Adding or Changing an Estimate Line

To change an existing Estimate line, or to create a new line and add it to the estimate, enter the new information into the appropriate fields. The screen that opens contains all the information for the estimate line. The fields that are available to you on this screen depend on the type of estimate line, the type of operation, and the type of part.

After you change an existing line or add a new one, and select the Add to Estimate button, the program updates the estimate, including all the changes. You cannot reverse the operation after you add the line.

To change information in an existing estimate line

  1. Open a workfile.
  2. Select the Estimate tab, and then select the Lines tab.
  3. Select the line you want to change. Enter the new data.

    Right-click the line you want to change, and then select Line Properties. The Estimate Line Properties sheet opens, with the General tab automatically selected.
  4. Change the default information, or add new information as necessary.
  5. Click OK to close the screen.
  6. Click Save or Save and Close.

Note: Alternately, select the line, and then select Line Operations > Edit Line option from the toolbar.

To add a line to the estimate

  1. Highlight the Description field in a line that you want to add to the estimate.
  2. Enter text into the description field.
  3. Move into another field in the same line.
  4. Right-click the line, and then select Line Properties from the pop up menu. The Estimate Line Properties sheet opens with the General Tab automatically selected. When you add a line, you must add new information to the Estimate Line Properties sheet fields.
  5. Click OK to close the screen.
  6. Click Save or Save and Close.
